October 10, 2014 | Leave a comment Today marks the launch of the iFeelio blog. Yes. On a Friday. iFeelio has been near and dear to me over the last two years, challenging me in ways I had never anticipated. I built it simply to have a tool to help me figure out my stuff, and lo and behold, it is teaching me that just when you think you have everything figured out, you don’t. In preparation to launch the blog, I asked a few friends to review the look and feel to give me their reactions. What I heard was that the content would be great, yet the design was pretty unpretty. Throughout the development of iFeelio, this has been a common thread — “This app is seriously changing my life! And at the same time, you should hire a designer.” I realized yesterday that I have been so hesitant to promote iFeelio because I am worried about how it is not beautiful. How it does not shine pretty like all the other apps. How it isn’t the belle of the ball. And then I realized how this is an underlying theme in my life. Being afraid to put myself out in the world because of how I believe that I and things I create don’t measure up to society’s standards of beauty. And then I realized, “wait a sec, this is the POINT of iFeelio.” So it is with great pleasure and conviction that I present to you the iFeelio blog, in all its ugly beauty. iFeelio has transformed my life as well as those of many others. This blog is about sharing those stories, the underlying principles of iFeelio, and the overall movement towards a world where it’s OK to be human. Emphatically, Jim
